EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The City of El Paso will reopen the Pat O’Rourke Community Recreation and Aquatic Center.
The facility was temporarily closed for renovations.
The $1 million enhancements will help accommodate sports, fitness, aerobics, games, and outdoor leisure activities, and include the following improvements:
- New gym flooring
- New tiles for the pool deck
- New roof ladder
- New wall openings in the weight room and gym
- Replacement of two reception desks
- Replacement of patio LED lights
- New furniture for the patio area
- Installation of automatic door at the entrance of the senior center room
- New tile for fitness room restrooms
- New fitness equipment
- Repairs to twelve (12) concrete columns in basement
- An enhanced HVAC system
The city will host a reopening ceremony on Wednesday at the center at 5 pm
The renovations were made possible through the City of El Paso’s 2012 Quality of Life bond program.
