Clackmannanshire Council submitted planning applications to install replacement roofs and render and replace windows at various properties on High Street and Main Street, Clackmannan.
If approved, the council will carry out the works across several properties in the town, before similar works are rolled out in other areas of the Wee County.
The council confirmed to the Advertiser that these works are part of the planned capital investment program.
In February, the council agreed on more than £18 million to be set aside and invested in the social housing stock, of which these improvements are just the start.
A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council said: “The works to replace windows and roof cladding at properties in Clackmannan are part of the council’s ongoing planned capital investment programme.
“Planning applications have been submitted for the works within the conservation are of Clackmannan, with other applications to be submitted in due course.
“These works are not just taking place in Clackmannan, the program takes in a number of areas, right across the county.”
